The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord and He delighteth in His way.
How does this happen? Verses 4-7 of Psalm 37 answers this question.
Delight is the key that unlocks the door to this mystery.
Delight is used 4 times in the Scripture with this definition.
Definition: Delight (Strong’s 6026) Be soft or pliable; figuratively, it means effeminate, as the submissive Bride of Christ. (Isaiah 58:74, Isaiah 55:2, Psalm 37:4 and Psalm 37:11.)
To be soft or pliable is the most important facet or component to the Lord accomplishing His work in and through His/our vessels/bodies.
Philippians 2:12-13 states this: Work but your own salvation with fear and trembling for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
Verse 14 is discomfort! Do His will without complaint remembering Your reasonable service is to submit / be pliable which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)
This takes us back to Psalm 37 where if we delight / be pliable toward the Lord He will give / place His desires / will in our hearts.
After His will is made your will, commit the execution of His will back into His hands, remembering Philippians 2:13 – For it is God which works in you both to will and to do.
It is necessary to point out: human effort (doing) is not what would Jesus do; rather it is Jesus using earthen vessels to do His will.
Thus the need for soft / pliable submitted vessels which are prepared for the Master’s use. (2 Timothy 2:21)
